Aqil Aliseker Awarded “Best Journalist” Medal in Kyrgyzstan
Aqil Aliseker, head of the Yeni Çağ Media Group and chairman of TİMBİR, has received the “Best Journalist” medal from the Kyrgyzstan Journalists’ Union. The award was presented in Bishkek.

Aqil Aliseker, head of the Yeni Çağ Media Group and chairman of the Turkish Internet Media Association (TİMBİR), has been honoured in Kyrgyzstan for his contribution to the development of media cooperation across the Turkic world and to deepening relations between Azerbaijani and Kyrgyz journalists.
The commemorative ceremony took place in Bishkek, within the framework of the Turkic World Kyrgyzstan Journalists’ Workshop, organised by the Turkic World Journalists’ Federation together with the Yusuf Balasaghuni Kyrgyz National University.
Ilyasbek Baltashev, chairman of the Kyrgyzstan Journalists’ Union, presented Aqil Aliseker with the union’s honorary membership certificate and the “Best Journalist” medal.
Ilyasbek Baltashev said that the Kyrgyzstan Journalists’ Union, which has been active for more than 20 years, is honouring journalists from outside the country for the first time. According to him, this step is valuable for promoting friendship and brotherhood among Turkic peoples, upholding common values and expanding professional cooperation between media representatives.
The chairman of the union also stressed the importance of developing direct relations between media organisations in Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. He noted that the exchange of information, joint media projects and the sharing of journalists’ experience allow the public of the two countries to get to know each other better.
Among those honoured were Menderes Demir, representative of the Turkic World Journalists’ Federation; Dr Süleyman Basa, chairman of the Turkish Internet Media Association; Yılmaz Karaca, chairman of the Turkish Journalists’ Federation; Bayan Ramazanova, representative of the Kazakhstan Journalists’ Union; Adil Koçalan, representative of the Istanbul Journalists’ Federation; and Kholmurod Salimov, a member of the Uzbekistan Journalists’ Union. They were awarded medals and accepted as honorary members.
It was also noted that last month, during a visit to Kazakhstan, Aqil Aliseker was awarded the Order “Kemal Ata Kemengер” in the name of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in recognition of his contribution to the development of media and civil society across the Turkic world and to the promotion of friendly relations.
