A coastal cleanup drive was held in Bilgah on Leyla Aliyeva's initiative. More than 150 volunteers collected over 2 tons of waste.

On September 22, 2026, a coastal cleanup drive was held on the public beach in the settlement of Bilgah. The initiative was led by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union.
The event was organized by IDEA under the slogan "Keep the coastlines clean!" as part of World Cleanup Day in connection with the end of the beach season. More than 150 volunteers took part in the drive.
Participants collected more than 2 tons of waste from the coastal areas. The volunteers, equipped with necessary sanitary supplies, delivered the collected waste to the Təmiz Şəhər LLC solid waste sorting facility in Balakhani.
The main goal of the drive is to help preserve the cleanliness of sea coastlines, draw attention to the problem of coastal pollution with household waste, and more actively engage the public in protecting marine and coastal ecosystems.
The IDEA Public Union regularly conducts educational and practical environmental initiatives aimed at conserving the biological resources of the Caspian Sea, maintaining the cleanliness of coastal areas, and strengthening environmental responsibility in society.
IDEA calls on everyone to act responsibly toward nature conservation, protect the cleanliness of coastlines, and contribute to building a healthy, clean, and sustainable environment for future generations.
