Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva View New Nasimi Gardens Complex in Shamakhi

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva reviewed the infrastructure and conditions created at the new Nasimi Gardens (Nəsimi Bağları) complex in Shamakhi District. Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Anar Alakbarov provided the Head of State and the First Lady with detailed information about the completed work and tourism facilities.
The multifunctional tourism, cultural, and recreational project is designed for residents and visitors of the region. The complex was created to develop the tourism potential of Shamakhi, preserve local natural characteristics, and provide comfortable conditions for family leisure.
A three-story main building serves as the tourist information center. Here, visitors can receive information about tourist routes, available services, and locations within the complex. A souvenir shop and Capybara Cafe are also located here.
A rich museum exposition reflecting the ancient and modern history, as well as the cultural heritage of Shamakhi, is housed in a separate four-story building. This building also features the main restaurant hall, an event venue, and a spacious terrace.
A themed zone called Magic Village with Hobbit-style houses designed for year-round tourist accommodation has been built on the complex's grounds. Infrastructure in this zone includes the Honey Nest children's cafe, a playground, and a nine-meter-high observation tower.
Azerbaijan's first and only specialized capybara farm, Capybara Land, has also opened at Nasimi Gardens. Visitors have the opportunity to see the animals up close, pet them, and feed them.
The cultural space of the complex includes over 100 works and installations by Azerbaijani and foreign artists and sculptors. The centerpiece is a 21-meter modern monument-installation dedicated to the poet Imadeddin Nasimi, visible from many points in Shamakhi District.
The facility also includes a cottage settlement of 20 houses with an administrative building and a beach pool, as well as an active mosque. As part of landscaping efforts, over 150,000 trees and plants were planted on the territory, including pines, vineyards, ornamental plants, and paulownia.
