Doctor names the main causes of forgetfulness
Candidate of Medical Sciences Alexander Kalyuzhin explained that forgetfulness is more often linked not to memory decline but to a failure to encode information.

Fatigue, sleep deprivation, chronic stress, emotional tension and the habit of doing several things at once can cause forgetfulness. This was described on October 2 by Alexander Kalyuzhin, a senior lecturer at the Department of Fundamental Medical Disciplines of the State University of Education and a candidate of medical sciences.
The most common causes of forgetfulness are fatigue, sleep deprivation, chronic stress, emotional tension and the habit of doing several things at once. From a physiological standpoint, forgetfulness is most often linked not to a genuine decline in memory but to a failure to encode information. For example, a person puts an item down but at that moment does not manage to fully remember the action, because attention is scattered.
According to the specialist, in most cases the problem is not that memory has worsened, but that a person does not manage to encode what is happening because of scattered attention.
What helps prevent it
To prevent forgetfulness, Kalyuzhin named adequate sleep, reducing information overload and giving up constant multitasking as important.
He also recommended developing the habit of acting consistently and consciously, focusing attention on actions already performed.
