Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited the AileFest festival, which is being held at the Rami Library in Istanbul. He spoke with families and children and posed for photos with some of the participants.

The programme is organised by the Turkey Volunteers Foundation (TGTV) with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Family and Social Services and the Istanbul Governor's Office.

Erdogan toured the festival grounds, spoke with participants and children, posed for photos with citizens and gave the children pocket money. He was also briefed on the work carried out as part of the event.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy presented Erdogan with a Quran commentary (tafsir) written by the mufassir and poet Ismail Hakki Bursevi.

Those taking part in the programme included Bahadir Yenisehirlioglu, deputy chairman of the parliamentary group of the Justice and Development Party (AK Parti); Burhanettin Duran, head of the communications department of the presidential administration; Jokun Yilmaz, deputy minister of culture and tourism; Istanbul Governor Davut Gul; and Abdullah Ozdemir, chairman of the Istanbul branch of AK Parti.

The AileFest festival began on September 26 and will end the following day after the president's visit.

Erdogan's visit to the festival was reported by CNN TURK, TRT Haber, Haberturk and Sabah.
