Will Trump’s Name Be Given to the Kennedy Center? Court Announced Its Decision
A federal judge blocked an attempt to add Donald Trump's name to the Kennedy Center. In response, Trump stated that if the decision is not reconsidered, he will cancel the reconstruction of the complex.

In the US, the dispute over adding Donald Trump’s name to the name of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts continues. Federal Judge Christopher Cooper blocked renaming the Center in Trump’s honor. The judge stated that naming the building after Trump or another person without a decision from the US Congress is against the law.
Trump, however, objected to the decision. He stated that if the court does not approve the new name, he will not allocate financial funds for the large-scale reconstruction of the Center.
Against the backdrop of the dispute, the Center’s management decided to temporarily close the complex to the public. The reason given for this is the collapse of part of the Grand Foyer’s ceiling during a storm on September 4. No one was injured during the incident.
Meanwhile, lawyers for Congresswoman Joyce Beatty stated that closing the entire Center was not necessary. According to them, a similar problem was resolved in 1977 without suspending operations.
The Center is also currently experiencing severe financial difficulties. According to internal documents, the budget deficit has reached $23 million, and management has warned that it could face problems regarding payroll and other payments in the coming weeks.
