Success in the modern working environment is also linked to the ability to unite colleagues around a common goal, build cooperation and move work forward without relying only on formal authority. If a person wants to leave a job, the advice is first to look for a new opportunity while staying in the current one, and not to take a decision to resign under the influence of emotions.
Which skills are becoming more important
Mohammad Tawfik, head of the International Alliance for Supply Chain Education, believes that professional success is no longer defined only by accumulated experience, degrees or keeping to a work schedule. According to him, the importance is growing of flexible thinking, the ability to adapt quickly, strategic thinking, effective communication and the ability to manage change.
One should not fear artificial intelligence, but should make it a partner that increases efficiency and cuts the time needed to perform routine tasks.
Tawfik also notes the importance of continuous learning, developing leadership and innovation skills, exchanging knowledge and professional ties. In his assessment, career risks include reliance on outdated skills, staying in a comfort zone, focusing only on current tasks and a lack of understanding of broader changes in the organisation and the industry.
An employee's value is shifting towards decisions
HR consultant Rami Khatib notes that AI has accelerated access to knowledge and information. As a result, an employee's advantage is increasingly determined not by possessing unique information, but by the ability to assess it correctly, apply it and turn it into results.
According to Khatib, routine tasks are becoming more suitable for automation, while complex decisions require understanding the circumstances, assessing the reliability of information, comparing options and interacting with other people. He believes competition is gradually shifting from pitting humans against machines to a distinction between employees who use technology to expand their capabilities and those who continue to work in the old ways.
