Anatoly Aksakov Predicts Digital Ruble User Share by 2027
Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the State Duma Financial Market Committee, assessed the prospects of the digital ruble implementation. The Bank of Russia and VTB also shared initial results and adoption rates for the payment instrument.

By early 2027, up to three percent of bank account holders in Russia will be using the digital ruble. This estimate of the demand prospects for the new payment method among the country's citizens was shared by Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the State Duma Financial Market Committee.
Elvira Nabiullina, Governor of the Bank of Russia, previously commented on the initial results of the national digital currency's adoption. According to her, in the first ten days after the digital ruble became publicly available in Russia, users opened 87,000 accounts and conducted over 50,000 transactions.
Andrey Kostin, head of VTB, also evaluated the dynamics of the process. He noted that the digital ruble would enter circulation gradually, without sharp spikes. Kostin compared the adoption of the digital currency to how other technologies, including the internet and mobile communication, gradually gained popularity in their time.
