Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Expand Cooperation in Justice and Digital Services

On September 15, 2026, Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan Akbar Tashkulov met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan, Rashad Mammadov. The main topics of the talks were the strengthening of legal cooperation and the joint development of digital public services.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the current state of bilateral ties in the legal and judicial spheres, identifying priority areas for further interaction. The participants paid special attention to the introduction of modern technologies and the exchange of experience in the digitalisation of public services.
During the meeting, the current state of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in the field of justice and law, issues of further strengthening existing ties, as well as priority areas of interaction were discussed.
Cooperation Programme for 2027–2028
The meeting participants emphasised the importance of implementing the Cooperation Programme for 2027–2028. The document was signed on August 23, 2026, between the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan and the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan.
This programme forms the basis for joint work by the institutions of the two countries to improve public services and implement advanced methods of public administration. Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their intention to maintain a regular dialogue and implement specific initiatives in the legal and digital spheres.
