Azerbaijan and Vietnam’s ROX Energy Global discuss renewable energy project development

Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov held a meeting with Pham Minh Tuan, CEO of the Vietnamese company ROX Energy Global. During the talks, the parties discussed the implementation of joint projects in the field of renewable energy sources.

A key topic of discussion was the project to build a 200 MW wind power plant. The meeting participants reviewed issues regarding site selection, wind measurements, and the preparation of the project's feasibility study.

Special attention was paid to the development of solar energy in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. According to ministry representatives, these initiatives align with the concept of creating a "Green Energy Zone" and plans for exporting electricity from the region. The parties analyzed the possibilities of integrating future solar capacities into the country's energy system.

During the discussion, the strategic importance of developing infrastructure for the export of green energy to Turkey was emphasized. Ongoing work to strengthen the Nakhchivan energy system and create a direct electrical connection with the Turkish power grid was discussed.

Cooperation between the parties is based on a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2025 between the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan and the ROX Group. The document covers a wide range of areas, including the development of energy storage systems, solar and wind generation, as well as the production of hydrogen and ammonia.
