Illegal sale of dietary supplements suppressed in Baku
During an inspection of the "Proteinshop.az" retail outlet, over 600 units of products lacking accompanying documentation and labeling in the state language were seized.

The Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan (AQTA) conducted an unscheduled inspection at the "Proteinshop.az" sports nutrition store, located at 37 Huseyn Javid Avenue in the Yasamal district of Baku. The facility is owned by an individual, Vilayat Ali oglu Gasymov.
During the inspection, it was determined that 645 units of dietary supplements (BAD) across 20 different types had been imported into the country illegally, without proper registration or documentation. The products were being sold without state registration, import sanitary certificates, or labeling in the Azerbaijani language.
Furthermore, specialists identified 29 units of dietary supplements across 4 types which, despite having state registration, lacked import sanitary certificates for the specific batch of goods.
Samples were collected for laboratory testing to verify the safety of the products. The examination is intended to determine whether the supplements contain prohibited substances and whether the actual content of vitamins and minerals matches the information provided on the labels.
An administrative protocol has been drawn up regarding the identified violations. The Agency has decided to suspend the sale and withdraw from circulation all products that do not meet legal requirements.
