ESA Theatre celebrates 10th anniversary of its activity
Founded in 2016 by Nihad Gulamzade, ESA Theatre has contributed to the development of inclusive art and the training of professional personnel.

Azerbaijan’s first inclusive theatre, ESA Theatre, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its activity. Founded in 2016 by Nihad Gulamzade, the troupe brought together actors with and without disabilities, playing an important role in the development of inclusive art in the country.
The theatre’s story began 10 years ago in a room of just 20 square meters. Over the past period, the troupe has prepared 13 plays, 4 performances, and dozens of digital projects, representing Azerbaijan on both local and international stages.
The theatre, which did not cease its activities even during the pandemic, was awarded first place at the national theatre festival held during those years. Despite the difficulties faced during its period of activity, the team preserved its faith in art, contributing to the formation of new creative approaches and the training of professional personnel.
Among the upcoming goals of ESA Theatre is expanding the geography of international successes and representing Azerbaijan more broadly on world stages. The troupe hopes that more sustainable activity opportunities will be created in the future and that the theatre will achieve the status it deserves.
On the occasion of the anniversary, we congratulate all members of the team, led by the theatre’s founder Nihad Gulamzade.
