The Karabakh Hackathon 2026 competition, organised within the framework of the 6th Rebuild Karabakh exhibition held at the Baku Expo Center, has concluded.
Organised by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture with the support of private sector partners, the hackathon's main goal was to develop innovative solutions that contribute to the development of liberated territories, promote investment opportunities, and expand the use of digital technologies in agriculture.
Dedicated to the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture”, the hackathon was attended by 55 students representing 14 higher education institutions. Over the competition period of 44 hours, 44 minutes and 44 seconds, students worked in teams to prepare a prototype of a digital portal supporting the attraction of investment into agricultural land and farm assets in the Karabakh economic region. The proposed solutions included functions such as presenting investment opportunities on a single platform, allowing entrepreneurs to select suitable agricultural assets, carrying out electronic applications, and tracking the status of applications.
The hackathon aims to uncover the innovative potential of young people, develop practical skills in programming and project preparation, and strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions and the business sector.
At the conclusion of the competition, the projects presented were evaluated and the winners were awarded. The joint team of Western Caspian University and Baku Engineering University, “InvestArea”, the “Code 44” team of Azerbaijan State Agrarian University, and the joint team of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University and Azerbaijan Technical University, “Farad”, each received a prize of 4444 AZN.
