“Living Culture” Festival Held in Baku

The festival was organized with the financial support of the Agency for State Support of Non-Governmental Organizations, and with the joint organization of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Surakhani District Executive Authority, and the “Qeyd-Social Awareness” Public Union.
The purpose of the event was to promote the rich cultural heritage and national-spiritual values of the Azerbaijani people, strengthen public awareness in the field of culture, increase public support for the preservation of cultural heritage and its transmission to future generations, as well as encourage children’s and young people’s interest in culture and national heritage.
At the beginning of the festival, the dear memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence. This was followed by the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The event featured speeches by Adil Aliyev, head of the Surakhani District Executive Authority; Murad Aghabayli, Chairman of the Board of the Management Center of Reserves; Aysel Tahirova, Secretary General of the “Qeyd-Social Awareness” Public Union; and Members of Parliament Ulviyya Hamzayeva, Rizvan Nabiyev, Rovshan Muradov, Arzuxan Alizade and Vugar Iskandarov.
The speeches highlighted the importance of preserving, promoting and introducing Azerbaijani culture and cultural heritage samples, transmitting national-spiritual values to future generations, conducting educational activities in the field of culture, and supporting public initiatives in this direction.
As part of the festival, a panel discussion on culture and cultural heritage was organized. During the discussion, views were exchanged on measures being implemented to preserve and promote cultural heritage, expand awareness activities in the field of culture, and communicate cultural values to society.
The event program included a concert program, cultural presentations, a theatrical performance for children, and a film screening.
As part of the festival, the Baku Children’s and Youth Theater presented the play “The Magic Mirror.” The performance contributed to the development of children’s cultural and aesthetic outlook and increasing their interest in theatrical art.
At the end of the day, an open-air screening of “Where Is Ahmad?” was organized for festival participants. The film is one of the classic examples of Azerbaijani cinema.
The events held as part of the “Living Culture – Baku Cultural Awareness Festival” were aimed at presenting various aspects of Azerbaijani culture and cultural heritage to the public, expanding cultural awareness, and promoting national-cultural values.
The festival contributed to the development of cooperation between state institutions and civil society organizations in the field of preserving and promoting cultural heritage, as well as supporting awareness-raising initiatives related to culture.
