Uzbekistan to hold CIS chairmanship in 2027
CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev announced at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth that the CIS chairmanship will pass to Uzbekistan in 2027.

In 2027, the chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States will pass to Uzbekistan. This was announced by CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth.
"I would like to announce that in 2027 the chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States passes to Uzbekistan," Lebedev said.
The CIS Council of Heads of State is the supreme body of the Commonwealth, comprising the leaders of the member states. Announcements of the transfer of the chairmanship at its meetings record the order in which countries assume this role.
