General Ali Abdollahi calls for modernization of Iran’s air defense system
Ahead of Air Defense Day, Iran's military leadership has set a task to implement cyber warfare systems and create a layered defense to neutralize threats at long range.

Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Ali Abdollahi, outlined key priorities for the development of the country's air defense in a message marking Air Defense Day. In his address to Air Defense Commander Brigadier General Alireza Elhami, he emphasized that to effectively counter modern military threats, it is necessary to rely on domestic potential and attract young specialists.
General Abdollahi set the task of forming an "offensive defensive strategy." According to him, Iranian forces must create an integrated, active, and proactive network capable of detecting and neutralizing potential threats at the furthest possible distances.
To achieve these goals, as the Chief of Staff noted, it is necessary to combine all levels of detection, radar systems, and missile complexes into a single "smart" and resilient structure. Special attention is paid to the introduction of new technologies, including the development of electronic warfare and cyber defense capabilities.
In addition to technical equipment, Abdollahi pointed to the importance of training personnel capable of working with modern defense methods. He also called for strengthening interaction between different branches of the armed forces and coordinating actions with the Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Headquarters.
In his message, the Major General emphasized that current achievements in the field of air defense are the result of fulfilling the directives of the late leader of the country, and are also in line with the expectations of the current leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.
